Major UI Improvements Devlog #4


Hello everyone! I have spent the last 3 or 4 days working on UI and some neat features to add to the UI. So feature Number One that I added is a 3D radar for each of the 5 ships you get to control:

Quite of bit of time was spent on this feature. This , in my opinion, is a necessity for any space shooter game. This helps you keep track of your targets much easier. The end design may look a little different as UI design is not my strong point, but the feature is solid and a welcome addition to the black hole incident. Just to give you a frame of reference here is what the old 2d radar looked like:

If you ask me, the 3D version is a HUGE improvement. What do you think? Do you prefer the 2D version? Should I make a setting to enable/disable each version? I am happy just leaving the new 3D version. Everyone here at Introverted games, (me and my son) feel its an improvement. So on to the second new feature that was added to Black hole incident. This feature is pretty much just a visual improvement. I added a 3D hologram of your current target along with health bars and what not here let me show you:

If you ask me, this new feature is pretty awesome! I feel that it adds a lot to the game for real. it is pretty hard to get an idea of how the game is coming with only small screen shots, so here are some full screens as well:

Looking at these screen shots, I noticed a bug on the health bar. The values show decimal places... OOPS! I'll fix that right away. I hope to have a playable demo out to all of you soon. There is a METRIC TON of work to do on any game. This one is no exception. So far we are still on track for release in about 5 1/2 months now. I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you.
